Upcoming Photography Workshops and Experiences for 2018 and 2019

Pond Hide at Wildlife Photography Hides

Dates available November 2018 through to February 2019

This is an incredible opportunity to have the possibility of photographing all of the animals and creatures that come to this one hide. That includes Kingfisher, Sparrowhawk, Buzzard, Red Kite, Heron, Otters, Woodland Birds, and Tawny Owl.

The workshop will of course be guided by myself and I will be with you throughout the day to assist, guide and answer any questions that you may have. This new hide is unique in that you can photograph from three sides of the hide - Its set up for Kingfishers from one section of the hide, Sparrowhawk and Woodland Birds from a second section and Buzzard/Red Kite from the third section. In the hide you just move from section to section depending upon what subject matter has arrived.

This does mean though that you need at least 2 suitable lenses which will be set up in the portals and at least one camera body. You will be able to move your camera body around the hide but NOT your lenses for risk of disturbing the birds. Of course if you have 3 set ups then even better :-)

We will be in the hide from Dawn until Dusk so once in the hide you cannot leave. This hide is superbly designed and made - its luxury as hides go. There is a wood burning heater for those cold days, electricity, a toilet, hot tea and coffee and the hide has reflective glass all round with portals for camera use. It really is superb. Its also fully carpeted to deaden any noise moving about.

As I mentioned it is dawn to dusk photography. However at an additional cost it is possible for two people to stay on in the hide overnight ( camp beds provided) to photograph the Otter and any other night visitors such as Tawny Owl.

The hide is situated not far from Rutland just 10 minutes off the A1 and we will be met at a pre-arranged place to be shown to the hide.

This is a unique hide and the right photography gear is required and a reasonable knowledge of the basic settings on your camera. There are fixings in the hide for Gimbals and Ball Heads though beanbags and tripods will also work well. There is also a good B&B nearby for those who decide they want to stay over and they will cater for our early starts and late finishes.

Cost of the Dawn to Dusk session is £200 and for anyone that wishes to include the overnight session it will be an additional £125…

IMPORTANT NOTE: TOM MAINTAINS ALL OF HIS HIDES TO A VERY HIGH STANDARD IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT. THE HIDES ARE CARPETED SO YOU ARE REQUESTED TO REMOVE ALL SHOES ON ENTRY TO THE HIDES. IF YOU WANT TO WEAR SHOES IN THE HIDES PLEASE BRING A SPARE PAIR OR ALTERNATIVELY JUST WEAR THICK SOCKS IN THE HIDE !!

Please email me for dates and you can pay a £50 deposit online HERE and book a session.
